Our Research and Engagement Lead at the Management School, Dr Benjamin Hammer, took part in the prestigious and highly selective Management Development Programme at the Harvard Graduate School of Education last week.
The five-day programme held on Harvard University’s campus in Cambridge, Massachusetts, helps higher education managers acquire the knowledge and insight needed to think more strategically, balance competing demands, and engage in more forward-thinking leadership.
Together with almost 90 university managers from all over the world, Dr Benjamin Hammer discussed topics such as Higher Education Leadership, Mental Health, Negotiation Skills, Transformational Change, Strategy Development and Diversity, Equity and Inclusion.
Back on the campus of Lancaster University Leipzig, Dr Benjamin Hammer summarises: “The Management Development Program was a great opportunity to broaden my horizons and build new networks. The combination of case studies, small group discussions, interactive presentations, and immersive experiences has helped me to gain critical skills in various dimensions. I particularly enjoyed the diversity of the participants and discussions, and it was a great honor for me to represent Lancaster University Leipzig as one of the few Europeans in the program. I truly appreciate that Lancaster University Leipzig has fully supported me in this endeavor from the very beginning, and it speaks highly of us and our campus that we are invited to such a selective programme!”
